The use of IT (information technology) is an important part of student learning both at school and at home. We believe it is important to expose students to the internet to research, communicate and to create. We teach our students how to use the web safely and effectively in a range of contexts. Students can expect to use email, internet, blogs, wikis and other internet technologies.

We generally have open access to the internet, however the school does block certain web sites – including social networking sites.

Students are strongly encouraged to bring a laptop to school if they have one available. They can be simply connected to our wireless network and used in most subjects to enhance learning.

All students must complete an acceptable use agreement upon enrolling.
Information for parents regarding the supervision of their children can be found at the Netsafe web site.

Parents should be aware of what their daughter/son is using the internet for – keeping the family computer in a public part of the house is a good strategy.

Any incident of cyber bullying, whether at school or at home, should be treated seriously. Please ask for immediate assistance if this occurs.
